INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR APPLICATIONS TO "AMORE E TIRANNIA – MITI ANTICHI, SGUARDI CONTEMPORANEI" MASTERCLASS

Stivalaccio Teatro, Fondazione Teatro Comunale Città di Vicenza, and the Comune di Vicenza are launching an open call for an international advanced masterclass designed for italian actors, actresses, and performers who lives in Italy or abroad.
The masterclass explores the relationship between myth, gesture, emotion, and power through practices of physical theatre, improvisation, and stage creation with and without masks.

The workshop has been selected as a winning project under the SIAE Per Chi Crea 2025 – Professional Development for Artists call.
It is supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture (MiC) and SIAE within the framework of the “Per Chi Crea” programme.

THE PROJECT

“Amore e Tirannia – Miti Antichi, Sguardi Contemporanei” is a training and creative journey that investigates the tension between desire and domination, freedom and control, drawing inspiration from three mythological archetypes:
- Orpheus and Eurydice – love, loss, doubt
- Zeus and Hera – power, conflict, fragility
- Hades and Persephone – attraction, transformation, life and death

The aim of the masterclass is to provide participants with concrete tools for research, analysis, and stage creation, inspired by the artistic poetics of the Berlin-based company Familie Floez.

The programme is led by:
- Michael Vogel – founder and artistic director of Familie Floez
- Andres Angulo – actor, mime artist, playwright, and theatre educator with Familie Floez

Focus groups dedicated to project development and organisational aspects will be coordinated by Federico Corona and Mary Salvatore of Stivalaccio Teatro.
